Signal From The Noise brings together new work by Liverpool-based painter Luke Skiffington and Manchester-based sculptor Jeffrey Knopf — two artists whose practices share a fascination with instability, transformation, and the space where digital and physical realities blur.

Working across painting, sculpture, and 3D fabrication, Skiffington and Knopf create hybrid forms that move between the familiar and the obscure. Faces, anatomical fragments, and eroded surfaces emerge through processes of layering, scanning, and reconstruction — images that feel at once recognisable and estranged.

Knopf's sculptures draw on the ruptures and glitches inherent to digital fabrication, while Skiffington's paintings build shifting, layered images suspended between states. Together, they explore the threshold where precision meets chance, drawing from CGI animation, art history, found objects, photography, and drawing to reflect on how images and memories are constructed, distorted, and continually remade.
